Edith Ireland Sterner
Our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter Susan on August 16, 2011 in Rock Springs, WY of natural causes. She was born Jan 13, 1924 in Axtel, UT to Warren Ireland & Eva Jensen. Edith married Daniel J. Sterner on May 16, 1942 in Salt Lake City, UT. Daniel died Oct 16, 1976. Then married Albert Sorensen who passed away in 2007.
Edith was an excellent cook and seamstress. She worked at the sewing plant and turkey plant in Sanpete County. Also as a seamstress in Raymonds a dress shop in Salt Lake City, UT. She loved reading, camping and traveling. She made quilts and rugs for family and friends. After moving to Green River, WY she owned and operated an ice business with husband Al Sorensen. Edith is survived by sons, David Dan (Diana) Sterner, Bountiful, UT; Jerrold (Dawn) Sterner, Spring City, UT; daughter, Susan (Leon) Rock Springs, WY; 16 grandchildren and 43 great grandchildren; brother Robert Ireland and sister, Marjorie Larsen. Preceded in death by parents, husbands Dan Sterner, Al Sorensen, brothers, Donald, Lyn, Wayne; 2 grandchildren, Kathryn Diana Sterner, Marvin Joe Young. Funeral services will be held Saturday August 20, 2011 at 12:00 noon in the Spring City 1st Ward Chapel (New Building North End of Town)
